ARTIST'S NOTE

Study people who are happy no matter what!

The art is your life, your work, your legacy — and you get to decide whether you will create a masterpiece or not. You are the artist of your own life.

It begins with a simple choice: to recognise that, even in human form, you are an infinite life. There is no beginning and no end to who you are.

I love knowing that I am the universe — in this moment. Nothing is missing;
everything is complete and perfect from moment to moment. Yet the impulse to move life forward, to explore where it’s never been before, is so alive within me.

I’m a little different from your average artist.
How about you?

Katarina Miletic
Fine Artist | Designer | Storyteller

I was born on 5th July 1971 in Belgrade, where I studied Law and Orthodox Theology at the University of Belgrade. After moving to England, I pursued my lifelong love of design through studies in Interior Design at the Regent Academy of Fine Arts and later completed Professional Interior Design at the National Design Academy in Nottingham — one of the first online degree programs accredited by Staffordshire University.

I have been painting in watercolour since 1998, also exploring silk painting as an extension of that delicate medium. Over the past twenty-five years, my work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and art shows in both London and Belgrade, and my paintings now live in private collections across the world — from Buenos Aires to Helsinki, from San Francisco to Montreal, from Paris to Dar es Salaam, and beyond.

In 2006, my painting Great-grandfather’s Cart won First Prize at Belgrade’s October Salon of Amateur Painters, selected from over 3,000 works in the aquarelle category. The jury of five distinguished artists praised its “original concept and authenticity in staying true to the medium.” The following year, it received a national-level First Prize.

Nurturing Creativity

Alongside my own art practice, I have devoted much of my life to nurturing creativity in others. I have taught community art classes as a volunteer, worked as an art therapist in a dementia care home, and led painting retreats in England, Serbia, and Africa. Between 2019 and 2023, I also hosted live weekly creative classes online, building a global community of artists and art lovers.

My journey as an artist began with a deeply personal act of love — helping my father reconnect with his passion for painting. In that shared moment of rediscovery, I found my own calling. Art became not only my form of expression but also my way of honouring life itself — a bridge between generations, cultures, and hearts.

Light and shade have always fascinated me. I paint what I feel as much as what I see —colours, emotions, and the unseen dialogue between the two. Each painting is a co-creation, guided by something greater than myself. When I finish a piece, I often find myself standing in quiet gratitude, humbled by the mystery of creation and the joy of being used as an instrument of light.
